But what does it mean to be considered a ‘US person’ in legal terms? Here are some cases:
• You are a U.S. citizen (even if you have dual citizenship);
• You are a U.S. resident, hold a Green Card, or have Substantial Presence in the United States (as defined by U.S. law);
• You were born in the U.S. or a U.S. territory
• You are a U.S. tax person for other reasons
